I love the resonance and the tactile feedback that I get through playing viola. I also enjoy being the ‘glue’ in orchestra…. Getting a share of many parts eg clarinet, trombone etc. Since moving to viola from violin, I have discovered many amazing composers I knew knew before.

Dear Sonia! I absolutely agree with you.. I think the viola parts within a collective, whether that is an orchestra, or string quartet, has such a versatile role, from supporting the lower voices, to emphasizing the higher register instruments. I am also going between the violin and viola and of course I do love the violin repertoire as well, but if I had to choose between violin and viola when playing in a string quartet for example, I would pick the viola 10 out of 10 times :D
