Sharpen your ear and elevate your playing in this focused two-week journey into the art of intonation. Through interactive video lessons, weekly assignments, and hands-on exercises, we'll tackle tuning challenges both mechanically and musically. Anchored by the expressive works of Geminiani and others, this intensive will give you practical tools to build confident, consistent intonation across your repertoire.

What We'll Do:

Week 1: Train Your Ear & Mindset

Learn to hear intonation more clearly by listening for the tension and resolution of common intervals (3rds, 5ths, 6ths, etc.)

Use pre-recorded drones to explore how different notes interact and how intonation feels, not just sounds

Play targeted, simple exercises from the works of Geminiani and others to apply what you hear directly on your instrument

Week 2: Apply & Refine

Dive deeper into tuning within context—double stops, shifts, and melodic lines

Practice matching intonation with a fixed pitch (drone) and explore the role of intonation as expression

Receive a new assignment to apply these tools directly in your own practice and playing
